Two size ranges
MAY MAX carries two size systems. Denim — jeans and shorts — is sold in numeric sizes 24 to 31. Tops, sweaters and cardigans are sold in XS, S, M and L. Which range applies is shown on the product page.
How to measure
Measure over underwear or thin clothing with a soft tape held level and snug, not tight.
| Measurement | How to take it |

| Waist | Around the narrowest part of the torso, usually just above the navel. This is the measurement that matters most for denim. |
| Hips | Stand with feet together and measure around the widest point of the hips and seat. |
| Bust | Around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape level across the back. This is the measurement that matters most for tops. |
| Inseam | From the crotch seam down the inside of the leg to where you want the hem to land. |
Denim, sizes 24 to 31
Numeric denim sizes step up one at a time from 24 through 31. Take your waist and hip measurements, then read the three numbers listed on the product page before choosing: rise is how far the waistband sits above the crotch seam, inseam is the length of the leg, and leg opening is the width at the hem. A high rise on one pair and a low rise on another will sit very differently at the same numeric size, which is why those numbers are printed on every denim page.
Tops, sizes XS to L

| XS | The smallest cut in the range; a slim frame with a narrow shoulder and a small bust. |
| S | A slim to average frame, where the garment should sit close without pulling. |
| M | An average frame with more room through the bust than S. |
| L | A fuller frame, cut with the most room through bust, waist and hips. |
Between two sizes
Take the larger of the two. A relaxed, oversized or baggy cut has room built in and can be taken at your usual size; a slim or skinny cut has less, and sizing up is the safer choice. Every product page says which fit it is.
