Straight out of the nineties. This is a baggy, skater-inspired wide leg with a high waist holding it up and distressing worked through it for age.
The fit is deliberately roomy from the hip down, cut to move rather than to flatter in the conventional sense, and the distressing gives it the lived-in character the shape is supposed to have. Rigid, non-stretch denim in durable 100% cotton is what keeps a jean this loose from collapsing: the structure holds the volume in place. The rise measures 11 inches, the inseam 30, the leg opening 8.
The street-style read is immediate and it does not need help. Trainers are the obvious pairing, a fitted top balances the proportion, and beyond that the jean is doing all of the work for you.
