Low-Rise Carpenter Denim Short

Borrowed from a workwear pattern and cut for summer. These denim shorts sit low at the waist and carry the carpenter details honestly, front patch pockets and a hammer loop included.

Those details are the point rather than decoration. The patch pockets sit flat on the front, the hammer loop runs down one side, and the fit stays relaxed through the hip and thigh instead of gripping. The denim is cut with stretch, so it gives where you need it and holds its shape through a long day, and it stays breathable while doing so. The rise measures 9 inches and the inseam 7. Fabrication is 63% lyocell and 37% cotton.

This is an everyday short before it is a styled one. It takes a tee, a tank or a loose blouse without argument, which makes it the easy thing to reach for when the morning is already running late.
