Two small slits at the knee, both left to fray. That is the only thing interrupting an otherwise classic jean, and it is enough to change the register of the whole pair.
The waist is high, the leg is slim straight and relaxes a little as it reaches the ankle, and the length is cropped with petite frames in mind. Comfort stretch denim is what lets it move with you across a full day while keeping its shape, and the fabric is soft but structured enough not to sag at the knee. The rise measures 11 inches, the inseam 26.5, the leg opening 7. Fabrication is 93% cotton, 5% polyester and 2% spandex.
The cropped hem exists to show footwear, and it does that job for trainers, sandals and ankle boots equally. Everyday essential is the honest description; the fraying is what stops it from being a boring one.
